Quincy Singapore: Home of Business Travellers
Text by Erza S.T.
Have you ever gone to Singapore purely for a holiday? If the answer is “no”, then you are most welcome to join the club. It seems that when Indonesians go to Singapore these days, it is mostly business related so the the stay is usually short. So with a packed schedule that starts as soon as you arrive choosing the right hotel in this situation has become quite an important task.
Singapore is a hotel haven. From the luxurious and opulent five-star palaces to the YMCA, many choices are available throughout the island state. However, to get the right hotel that suits your taste, needs, and of course your budget can be challenging – especially if you are paying your own way. Luckily, there is one hotel in Singapore that understands this situation very well – the Quincy.
Nestled in the Mount Elizabeth residential enclave, Quincy hotel is located within three minute’s walk from the heart of Orchard Road. It’s a perfect location in the centre of Singapore, where you won’t be disturbed by the noise of the city streets. All 108 rooms in this trendy boutique hotel are designed in a sleek and ultra modern contemporary style that will suit most urban business travelers. The lobby-cum-coffee-shop is dominated in dark grey metal cladding, anodized steel and glass walls that showcase its beautiful design. First impression: it is both sexy and stylish.
The high ceilings of the lobby-cum-coffee shop offers free meals and afternoon cocktails for guests.
The rectangular, block-shaped hotel was built and designed by Singaporean architecture firm Ong&Ong and for a hotel that is built in such a narrow strip of land, the Quincy’s designers have shown great understanding in maximizing the use of space. The hotel room sizes are quite big with spacious see through bathrooms. The built-in wardrobes hidden inside the walls next to the bathroom entrance are a brilliant way to play with space. The room is also equipped with all the standards like 42” TVs, iPod docks and free Wi-Fi connections.

So, what does it take to be a perfect business hotel for weary business travelers who travel 20 days in a month? My take would include the following items: limousine transfer service from the airport, free Wi-Fi access during the ride in the limousine, three meals a day, mini bar inclusive, great amenities, free cocktails each evening and two pieces of laundry every day. Most hotels in the world can do all of the above of course, but surely it will come with some scary hotel bill at the end. This is not the case at the Quincy hotel as the hotel room price is already inclusive all of the above. With room rates starting from $318++ for two persons per night, this hotel actually offers quite a lot for the price.
Finding Quincy hotel in Singapore is like finding a home where they will take care all of your needs. It has been a while since I enjoyed a business trip to Singapore. But I have to say that the last trip there when I stayed at this hotel was the right choice indeed. Especially when I was sipping my cocktail while enjoying the city’s skyline from the glass-enclosed cantilevered pool on the 12th floor. It was a priceless moment.
